Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

2. O you who believe! Why do you say [2] what you do not do?

The Contradiction Between Word and Deed is a Very Bad Trait:

The second and third verses have two meanings. One is that a person advises others about things on which he himself does not act. For example, he advises others, especially his children, that speaking the truth is a very good habit, so always speak the truth. But he himself says things to them that clearly reveal his own falsehood. And the second meaning is that do not boast or make such claims about things on which you cannot act yourself. The contradiction between a person's words and actions is a very bad trait, due to which a person falls in the eyes of people, and Allah strongly dislikes such a thing. It is easy to say something with the tongue, but it is not easy to fulfill it, so whatever you say, say it thoughtfully.
