Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
It is He Who has created you from a single person (Adam), and has given you a place of residing (on the earth or in your mother’s wombs) and a place of storage [in the earth (in your graves) or in your father’s loins]. Indeed, We have explained in detail Our revelations (this Qur’ân) for people who understand.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
And He is the One Who created you from a single soul (Adam) [101]; then for each of you there is a place of dwelling and a place of deposit. We have clearly explained the signs for people who understand.
[101] Proofs of the Existence of Allah the Exalted:
When Sayyiduna Adam ؑ was created from clay and Allah breathed into him from His own spirit, intelligence, the power of discernment, and will and choice were produced in him, which are not found in other living beings and animals. Then from him, his mate was created, and through procreation and reproduction, countless men and women were brought into existence—this too is the work of Allah alone. No human or any other being can create even a single man. Then, for each of these men and women, there is a place of settlement and a place of trust. According to most scholars, the place of settlement refers to the duration of his life on the face of the earth, and the place of trust refers to his grave or the place where he is laid to rest after death. Despite both of these being absolute realities, no one knows how long he will remain on the earth, where and when he will die, and where he will be buried. According to some scholars, these refer to all four stages of life and death: if one stage is the place of settlement, then the other stage is its place of trust, and so on by analogy.
