Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
96. He is the One who brings forth the dawn, and He has made the night for rest [99], and the sun and the moon for calculation. That is the determination of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing.
[99] In this verse and the following verses, Allah Almighty has mentioned such signs of His, which none besides this Creator, Owner, and All-Powerful can bring into existence. In these, a person who reflects can find clear proofs of the existence of Allah and attain His recognition. For example, one is that the system of alternation of night and day was established so that you may work during the day and rest at night to relieve your fatigue. For work, light is needed, so He arranged for light as soon as the night ends, and for rest, darkness is required, so He arranged for that as well. Then He made the sun and the moon so strictly bound to their respective orbits and regulations that they do not deviate in the slightest, nor is there any advancement or delay even for a moment. Then, from these, you calculate days, months, and years and set your calendar. Is there any partner with Allah in this system of the universe? Or can anyone besides Allah bring such a system into existence?
