Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
So when the truth came to them, they denied it, but soon they will receive news [5] of what they used to ridicule.
[5] What is Meant by "the Truth"?
By "the Truth," it can mean the Noble Quran or the person of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The claim of both was that Islam would ultimately prevail. The disbelievers of Makkah, in particular, used to mock this, saying that this is a weak, small group who do not even have access to food and drink—if they dream of palaces, what is it if not madness? In response to this, Allah Almighty said that soon such news will begin to reach these people.
The Prophecy of the Muslims' Success:
It should be clear that this entire surah, except for six verses—three from ﴿وَمَاقَدَرُوْااللّٰهَحَقَّقَدْرِهِ﴾ and three from ﴿قُلْتَعَالَوْااَتْلُمَاحَرَّمَرَبُّكُمْعَلَيْكُمْ﴾—was revealed all in one night. And its time of revelation is approximately one year before the Hijrah, when the Muslims were caught in extreme difficulties. Most of their companions had migrated to Abyssinia and were residing there, and in Makkah, the disbelievers had made the lives of the Muslims unbearable. At that time, the Quran made this prophecy, which began to be fulfilled from the Battle of Badr itself, and the news of the Muslims' victory in the Battle of Badr spread throughout Arabia. Even in his lifetime, Islam gained dominance over the entire Arabian Peninsula.
