Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

143. (Allah has created) eight pairs (of livestock): two of sheep and two of goats. Say (O Prophet): "Has He forbidden the two males or the two females, or what the wombs of the two females contain [155]? Inform me with knowledge, if you are truthful."

[155] In this verse and the next, Allah Almighty has rationally questioned the self-made restrictions of these polytheists so that the irrationality of their statements becomes clear. Allah Almighty first mentioned eight pairs, meaning there are four kinds in total and eight pairs, for example: sheep and ram, goat and she-goat, camel and she-camel, and cow and ox. And these are the animals found in Arabia. Now Allah Almighty has instructed His Prophet to ask these polytheists: What is this matter that the male of a species is lawful but the female is unlawful, or the female is lawful and the male is unlawful, or the animal itself is lawful, but if a living offspring comes out of its belly, it is unlawful for some and lawful for others, and if it is dead, then it is lawful for all? These are such irrational things that sound intellect refuses to accept them. Then, can Allah command such absurd things, and can you show such irrational rulings from any heavenly book?
