O you assembly of jinn and mankind! "Did not there come to you Messengers from amongst you, reciting unto you My Verses and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?" They will say: "We bear witness against ourselves." It was the life of this world that deceived them. And they will bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

130. Then Allah will say to them, "O assembly of jinn and mankind! Did there not come to you messengers from among yourselves, reciting My verses to you and warning you of the meeting of this Day [138]?" They will say, "Yes, we bear witness against ourselves." The life of this world deceived them, and they will bear witness against themselves that they were indeed disbelievers in the signs of Allah.

The Chain of Prophethood is Now Only Among Humans:

Before humans, only jinn inhabited this earth, and it is reasonable to assume that messengers were sent among them as well. But after humans settled on earth, the chain of prophethood became exclusive to humans. The messenger who is sent for humans is also sent for the jinn. The reason messengers come from among humans is that humans are the noblest of all creatures, not the jinn. And the jinn can benefit from the messenger because the messenger is a human who cannot change his form. But if the messenger were from among the jinn, humans would not be able to benefit from him. Thus, it is established from two places in the Quran that the Messenger of Allah is also a messenger for the jinn. It is mentioned in Surah Ahqaf and also in Surah Jinn.
