ءَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْخَـٰلِقُونَ ﴿59﴾

59. Is it you who create this child [27], or are We the Creator?

The Starting Point of Human Creation in the Mother's Womb:
The first point to ponder is: what exactly is the human sperm-drop? What is it made of? Were the things from which the sperm-drop is formed alive or dead? And did you have any role or authority in the making or formation of this sperm-drop? Up to the point of depositing the sperm-drop in the mother's womb, man has some control. After that, his authority completely ends. A single drop of sperm consists of millions of germs or tiny creatures that can only be seen with a powerful microscope. Similarly, the existence of the female ovum in the mother's womb cannot be seen without a microscope. When a single sperm germ enters the female ovum, the union of these two forms a small living cell. This is the starting point of human life and is called conception. Up to the point of depositing the sperm-drop, the man has authority. But neither man nor woman nor any other power in the world has the ability to cause conception from the sperm-drop. Then, from this starting point, the gradual nurturing of the child in the mother's womb, the individual shaping of each child, the placement of various mental and physical abilities in each child in a specific proportion so that he emerges as a unique human being—can this be the work of anyone other than a Creator? Or does anyone else have even the slightest share in this? Then, it is also Allah's decision whether the child will be a girl or a boy, beautiful or unattractive, with sharp features or coarse ones, strong and tall or weak, frail, and of little weight, healthy or blind, deaf, lame, intelligent or dull-minded. All these are matters that are purely within the authority of Allah, the Creator of the universe. After understanding all these things, can man still not affirm that the One who created him can only be Allah, the Lord of all worlds? And the One who is creating millions upon millions of humans and other living beings every day from dead foods—can He not grant life again to the lifeless particles of dead humans?
