Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

37. Loving their husbands [20], and of equal age [21].

[20]
The Literal Meaning of ﴿عرباً اتراباً﴾:

﴿عُرُبًا﴾ is the plural of ﴿عُرُوْبٌ﴾, and ‘uroob’ means a woman who is loving towards her husband, and also means a woman who laughs a lot, brings joy, is tasteful, and captivates her husband with charm and coquettishness.
[21] ﴿أتْرَابٌ﴾ means soil, and ﴿تُرَابٌ﴾ means to play together in the soil. It means to be of the same age, to be friends. ﴿ترب﴾ means contemporary, a companion of the same age, and the feminine of ﴿ترب﴾ is tarbat, and both ﴿ترب﴾ and ﴿تربة﴾ have the plural ﴿اتراب﴾. However, the word ﴿اتراب﴾ is generally used only for women. Thus, by ﴿اتراب﴾ is meant such friendly and same-aged women whose temperaments are also in complete harmony. These women will also be of the same age among themselves and will always remain young, and the age proportion with their husbands will also remain equal.
