سُوْرَةُ الرَّحْمٰنِ
Surah Ar-Rahmaan (55) — Ayah 22
يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا ٱللُّؤْلُؤُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ ﴿22﴾

﴿مرجان﴾ The Intermediary Creation:
﴿مرجان﴾ is, in fact, an intermediary creation between minerals and plants, just as all pearls are a type of stone. ﴿مرجان﴾ is also a type of stone, but it grows like plants and is not static like minerals. ﴿مرجان﴾ has a small plant with branches as well. Pearls and ﴿مرجان﴾ are generally products of salty water. But beneath this salty water, by Allah's power, springs of sweet water are also gushing forth, or rivers flow alongside. That is why the word "minhuma" is used, meaning these things are produced as a result of Allah's amazing acts of creation, from which mankind is benefiting.
