سُوْرَةُ الْقَمَرِ
Surah Al-Qamar (54) — Ayah 42
كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُمْ أَخْذَ عَزِيزٍ مُّقْتَدِرٍ ﴿42﴾

(They) belied all Our Signs, so We seized them with a Seizure of the All-Mighty, All-Capable (Omnipotent).

The Divinity Claimed by Pharaoh and the Fate of the People of Pharaoh:
Pharaoh had also set himself up as a god in his land. Sayyiduna Musa and Sayyiduna Harun (peace be upon them) came to him with such clear miracles that made them certain that these were truly messengers of Allah. But he was absolutely unwilling to relinquish his rule and claim to divinity, so he denied the messengers and, instead of believing in them, began to inflict oppression and tyranny, and started plotting to kill Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him). At that time, We gave him such a punishment from which he had no way to escape. We brought him and his armies right into the middle of the sea and commanded the sea to flow. In this way, he and his armies were drowned in the sea. At that time, neither his divinity benefited him nor his armies.
