Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

36. (Lot) had certainly warned them of Our grasp, but they doubted the warning [26] and disputed it.

The Threats of the People to Sayyiduna Lut:

Sayyiduna Lutؑ did warn his people, but this wretched people neither valued his advice nor him himself. Instead, they began to threaten Lutؑ. If you are so pure, then leave our filthy town; otherwise, we ourselves will expel you from here. They also imposed this restriction on Sayyiduna Lutؑ that he should not give shelter to travelers and guests coming from outside. Otherwise, he himself would be responsible for the consequences. And the message that Lutؑ wanted to convey to them, warning them of their fate and making them fear accountability before Allah, these stubborn people were never going to accept. Instead, they would make absurd arguments and create disputes.
