Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
55. So, then, which of your Lord’s favors [37] will you doubt [38], O man?
[37] The Destruction of Oppressive Nations is Also a Blessing for Mankind:
The greatest blessing of Allah upon mankind is that He destroys oppressive and rebellious nations from the face of the earth, so that the rest of the people may be saved from their tyranny and oppression and may also live peacefully in the world. In other words, the destruction of all oppressive nations was also among Allah’s blessings and favors upon humanity. Allah the Exalted has mentioned this blessing at another place in very clear words as follows: ﴿وَلَوْلَادَفْعُاللّٰهِالنَّاسَبَعْضَهُمْبِبَعْضٍلَّفَسَدَتِالْاَرْضُوَلٰكِنَّاللّٰهَذُوْفَضْلٍعَلَيالْعٰلَمِيْنَ﴾[251:2] [38] The meaning of ﴿تَتَمَارٰي﴾ is both to doubt and to dispute. That is, even after presenting so many examples from history, do you still have any doubt that whichever nation showed arrogance before the commands of Allah the Exalted ultimately had to face destruction? And according to the second meaning, it would mean: just as those people used to dispute with their prophets, will you also dispute in these matters?
