Therefore, remind (mankind of Islâmic Monotheism, O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم). By the Grace of Allâh, you are neither a soothsayer, nor a madman.
فَذَكِّرْ fadhakkir Therefore remind
فَمَآ famā for not

رَبِّكَ rabbika (of) your Lord
بِكَاهِنٍۢ bikāhinin a soothsayer
وَلَا walā and not
مَجْنُونٍ majnūnin a madman

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

29. So keep reminding. By the grace of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer nor mad [23].

The Disbelievers Bestowing the Titles of Soothsayer, Madman, and Poet Upon You:

From here, the focus turns again to the comments and titles of the disbelievers of Makkah regarding you. Although in these verses the address appears to be directed at youﷺ, in reality, it is directed towards the disbelievers of Makkah. That is, if your enemies, out of malice and enmity, call you a soothsayer or madman, you will not become a soothsayer or madman because of their nonsense. Let them continue with such nonsense, and you remain engaged in your work, admonishing people by reciting the Quran to them.
