سُوْرَةُ الذَّارِياتِ
Surah Adh-Dhaariyat (51) — Ayah 32
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ ﴿32﴾

They said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimûn (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allâh)

This criminal nation was the people of Lut, for whom it is sufficient to simply call them a criminal nation, because they were the embodiment of criminality. They committed shirk with Allah, were the founders and inventors of sodomy, would commit sodomy with travelers and then rob them of their belongings and drive them out of their town. They denied the Hereafter and the messengers, and threatened to expel their prophet from their town. In short, they were a nation involved in every kind of disbelief, polytheism, and wickedness.
