Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

44. On the Day when the earth will split open [50] from above them and they will come forth quickly. Gathering them like this is very easy [51] for Us.

[50] Just as the earth splits open and the sprout of a plant tears and bursts through the earth and emerges from it, in the same way, on that Day, the earth will split open and, like plants, humans will keep growing and emerging from the earth. They will immediately continue to develop, then they will rush towards the court of Allah in compulsion, in which their own will shall have no part.

Aspects of Similarity Between the Birth of Plants and Humans:

Allah Almighty has, at countless places, declared the emergence of plants from the earth and the emergence of dead humans from the earth to be similar to each other. And as far as I have understood, it is that the emergence or coming forth of humans from the earth is even easier than the sprouting of plants. The only difference is that the sprouting of plants is constantly observed by us, therefore we do not feel the need to reflect upon it, whereas the sprouting of the dead has not been observed by us, so the disbelievers deny it and do not bother to reflect upon it. In other words, in both cases, the real deficiency is in reflection and contemplation. Now I will explain this with an example. Suppose in a garden or in a single plot of land, there are some sweet fruit trees, such as pomegranate, mango, apple trees, or grapevines, and in the same plot of land, there are some bitter trees or vines, such as a neem tree, a bitter gourd vine, or a cactus plant. Now, when rain and suitable weather are provided, every tree and plant will draw from the earth only those elements that are related to its own seed, and the earth will provide it only those elements, not others. For example, it cannot happen that the pomegranate tree receives the elements and sweetness of grapes, or that any element of the bitterness of bitter gourd is included in the pomegranate tree. Nor can it happen that the grapevine contains some elements and bitterness of bitter gourd. The same is the case with the rebirth of humans or their sprouting or coming forth from the earth. Its real seed, that is, the soul, is already with Allah. And the material seed also remains preserved in the earth; the earth cannot consume it, and that part is the ‘ajb al-dhanab, which is the material seed of man, and this is proven by authentic hadiths. Now, the seed of every human will draw from the earth only those elements that are related to its seed, and the earth will provide it only those elements. The elements of Zaid’s body cannot enter Bakr’s body, nor can Bakr’s elements go into ‘Umar’s body. And the sprouting of humans from the earth is even easier than that of plants in the sense that about one and a half million species of plants have been discovered so far, but on the Day of Resurrection, only two species—jinn and humans—will sprout from the earth, unless Allah Almighty wills something else.
