Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
19. And the stupor of death [22] will come in truth; that is what you were trying to escape from, O man [23].
[22] The Unveiling of All Realities at Death:
This has two meanings: that death, along with its unconsciousness and hardships, brings with it all those realities about which the noble prophets (peace be upon them) kept informing. With death, it will become clear to him that the reckoning and the evil end with which he was warned has now begun. As soon as he sees the Angel of Death, all the forthcoming realities will start to become manifest to him. [23] "Haad" means to turn away from the straight path, to evade, to change direction, and to run far away. The straight path was what the prophets had told: that you will be resurrected after death and your reckoning will take place. You were indeed doubtful about this. Both possibilities existed in your mind. But your soul desired that you should not be held accountable, so you would satisfy yourself by raising various objections and, in any case, wanted to avoid the straight path.
