Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

57. O you who believe! Do not take as friends those among the People of the Book and the disbelievers who make a mockery and sport of your religion [99.1]. And fear Allah if you are truly believers.

[99۔ 1]
Prohibition of Friendship with Disbelievers, Hypocrites, and People of the Book:

In this verse, Muslims are repeatedly and emphatically instructed that whether they are People of the Book or other disbelievers and polytheists—whoever mocks Allah, Allah’s Messenger, Allah’s verses, or other matters of Allah’s religion—never form a friendship with any of them. Such people can never be your well-wishers. The previous rulings regarding such people have already been mentioned: whenever they hold gatherings and are engaged in such absurdities, you must never sit with them—unless you possess enough strength to try to stop them by force or by the power of argument.
