Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

56. And whoever takes Allah, His Messenger, and the believers as allies (should know that) it is indeed the party of Allah [99] that will be victorious.

Dominance Will Only Be Granted to True Believers:

That is, Muslims should firmly believe that their true well-wishers can only be those Muslims who are true believers. Before the conquest of Makkah, the situation of the Muslims was such that they were fewer in number compared to the disbelievers. Their economic conditions were also not good. In the conquest of Khaybar, many date palm trees came into the Muslims’ share as spoils of war, and this was the first time that Muslims had enough dates to eat to their fill. The Muhajirun returned those date palm trees to the Ansar in which they used to work and, in return, used to take half of the produce as compensation. The political situation was also such that all the people of Arabia were waiting to see which way the camel would sit—whether Islam would prevail or disbelief would dominate. The Jews, polytheists, Christians, and other Arab tribes had all joined together to severely trouble the Muslims. In such a situation, Allah Almighty, as a means of consolation, is assuring the Muslims that they must completely avoid friendly relations with the disbelievers, and friendship and love should only be with those who fear Allah and are true Muslims who obey His commands. Surely, success and dominance will be granted to you alone.
