سُوْرَةُ المَآئِدَةِ
Surah Al-Maaida (5) — Ayah 30
فَطَوَّعَتْ لَهُۥ نَفْسُهُۥ قَتْلَ أَخِيهِ فَقَتَلَهُۥ فَأَصْبَحَ مِنَ ٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَ ﴿30﴾

So the Nafs (self) of the other (latter one) encouraged him and made fair-seeming to him the murder of his brother; he murdered him and became one of the losers.

But his soul prompted him to kill his brother, [62] so he killed him and became one of the losers.
[62] Qabil listened to his brother’s words and pondered over them for some time, but eventually he decided that as long as Habil remained alive, he could not marry that girl. Therefore, he thought that only by getting rid of him could he gain any benefit, and the devil of his soul enticed him with alluring promises and made him willing to put an end to his brother. Then, when he killed him, curses and condemnation began to rain down on him from all sides, for he had killed such a virtuous and compassionate brother without any fault of his. And as for the punishment that awaits him in the Hereafter, that will certainly be meted out to him.
