It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

6. And so that He may punish the hypocrite men and hypocrite women, and the polytheist men and polytheist women [6], who harbor evil thoughts about Allah. Upon them is a turn of evil, and Allah is angry with them, has cursed them, and prepared Hell for them—a terrible destination.

The Hypothesis of the Hypocrites That the Muslims Would Never Return:

No hypocrite participated in the expedition of Hudaybiyyah. The reason for this was that there was no prospect of spoils of war in this expedition, and the Muslims were going solely for the sake of Allah to perform ‘Umrah. When the disbelievers stopped the Muslims at the place of Hudaybiyyah and the situation became tense, these reports began to reach Madinah. Consequently, the hypocrites began to rejoice greatly, saying that previously the Quraysh of Makkah used to come far from their homeland to fight, but now the Muslims themselves had reached their homes. Now, they would never be able to escape from there. The peace treaty and the safe return of the Muslims to Madinah further increased the burning in the hearts of the hypocrites, and many of their secret plans were foiled. This was sufficient punishment for them. On the other hand, the polytheists of Makkah were rejoicing that they had succeeded in making the Muslims accept their arbitrary conditions. However, later these very conditions proved to be the cause of their own destruction. The most humiliating condition was that if any Muslim from Makkah went to Madinah without the permission of his guardian, the Muslims would return him, but if any Muslim came to Makkah, the Quraysh of Makkah would not return him to the Muslims. The outcome of this condition has already been mentioned at the beginning. The second condition was that any tribe among the Arabs could become an ally of either party. As a result, Banu Khuza‘ah became allies of the Muslims and Banu Bakr of the Quraysh of Makkah. A dispute arose between Banu Khuza‘ah and Banu Bakr, so the Quraysh of Makkah, in violation of the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, helped their allies Banu Bakr and committed excesses against Banu Khuza‘ah. Thus, this very breach of covenant by the polytheists of Makkah became the cause of the conquest of Makkah, a calamity upon them, and the reason for their downfall. The third condition was that both parties would not fight for ten years. The fate of this condition was that when Banu Khuza‘ah went to Madinah and complained to the Prophet ﷺ about the excesses and breach of covenant by the Quraysh of Makkah, Abu Sufyan himself had to go to Madinah to plead for the maintenance of the treaty. Even then, he did not succeed in his objective. The fourth condition was that the Muslims would come the following year to perform ‘Umrah, and for three days the polytheists of Makkah would vacate the city. This condition was implemented exactly as agreed. It was the utmost honesty and nobility of the Muslims that, keeping their promise in view, they performed ‘Umrah and left after three days. Had it been anyone other than the Muslims, seeing the city empty as it was, they would have immediately seized it. Even the polytheists of Makkah began to sense this danger. In short, Allah Almighty not only foiled the hopes and schemes of the hypocrites and polytheists but turned their own plans against them. The punishments they later had to witness in this world, or will have to face in the Hereafter, are in addition to this.
