وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَتَعْسًا لَّهُمْ وَأَضَلَّ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ ﴿8﴾
But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism), for them is destruction, and (Allâh) will make their deeds vain.
وَٱلَّذِينَ wa-alladhīna But those who
كَفَرُوا۟ kafarū disbelieve
فَتَعْسًۭا fataʿsan destruction (is)
لَّهُمْ lahum for them
وَأَضَلَّ wa-aḍalla and He will cause to be lost
أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ aʿmālahum their deeds

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

As for those who disbelieve, destruction [10] is for them, and He will render their deeds void.

[10]
Literal Meaning of ﴿تعسا﴾:

The meaning of ﴿تعسًا﴾ is to stumble and fall and then not be able to get up, or to fall into a pit and perish (Mufradat). Thus, Allah makes firm the feet of those who help His religion, whereas, on the contrary, the deniers are thrown down on their faces and destroyed. The believers are helped, while all the deeds of the disbelievers are rendered void.
