Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

That is because Allah is the Protector of those who believe, while the disbelievers [12] have no protector.

Abu Sufyan’s Sloganeering at the End of the Battle of Uhud and Its Response:

That is, the disbelievers certainly think that their goddesses and deities come to their aid, whereas this is merely their delusion. Among the battles between truth and falsehood in the Prophetic era ﷺ, the Battle of Uhud is the only one in which, initially, due to their own mistake, the Muslims had to face a temporary defeat, and in the end, the field remained even. Abu Sufyan, considering even this little success as a great gain, raised the slogan of his greatest deity and idol Hubal, saying ﴿اَعْلَي الهُبَل﴾ (“Hubal has been exalted”), so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to the Muslims: Respond to him! ﴿اَللّٰهُ اَعْلٰي وَاَجَلّ﴾ (“Exalted is only Allah, and He alone is the Most Great and Most Exalted”). Then Abu Sufyan said: ﴿لنا عُزّٰي ولا عُزّٰي لكم﴾ (“For us is the goddess ‘Uzza who gives honor, and for you there is no ‘Uzza”). The Prophet ﷺ said to the Muslims: ﴿اَللُّهُ مولٰنَا وَلَا مَولٰي لَكُم﴾ (“Our Protector and Helper is Allah, but you have no protector or helper”). His response was the very explanation of this verse. And so it happened. When Abu Sufyan had left the field of Uhud and had gone several miles towards Makkah, it occurred to him that no decisive result had come from this battle, so he should return and attack the Muslims again to make it conclusive. But Allah created the means for the Muslims’ help such that the Muslims themselves set out in pursuit of Abu Sufyan’s army before he could return. When Abu Sufyan learned of this situation, Allah cast fear into the hearts of the disbelievers, and they took the road to Makkah.
