سُوْرَةُ مُحَمَّدٍ
Surah Muhammad (47) — Ayah 10
۞ أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ دَمَّرَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ وَلِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ أَمْثَـٰلُهَا ﴿10﴾

Have they not travelled through the earth, and seen what was the end of those before them? Allâh destroyed them completely, and a similar (fate awaits) the disbelievers.

Do they not travel through the land and see what was the end of those before them? Allah utterly destroyed them, and for the disbelievers, there are such (punishments) [11].
[11] This verse has two meanings: one is that when the previous nations chose the path of rebellion, Allah sent various kinds of punishments and destroyed them. In the same way, He can destroy these present disbelievers by sending similar punishments. The second meaning is that just as Allah gave various punishments to the disbelievers in this world, He will also give them many kinds of punishments in the Hereafter.
