Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

37. To Him belongs all greatness [49] in the heavens and the earth, and He is the Mighty, the Wise.

[49]
1. The Condemnation of Arrogance. 2. Grandeur Befits Only Allah:

Arrogance and pride are such crimes for which punishment is inevitably received even in this world. There is a famous saying that "the head of pride is bowed low." This is a reality that every person observes in this world itself. And as for the Hereafter, the fate of the arrogant will be that there will not be a single arrogant person who will not be humiliated and disgraced before being cast into Hell. It is established from many authentic ahadith that most of the inhabitants of Hell will be those who were arrogant. Furthermore, it is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudriؓ and Sayyiduna Abu Hurairahؓ that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Honor is the lower garment of the Lord and greatness is His cloak. (Then he said that Allah Almighty says:) Whoever tries to snatch either of them from Me, I will surely punish him." [مسلم۔ کتاب البر والصلۃ والادب۔ باب تحریم الکبر]
Also, according to a hadith qudsi, Allah Almighty said that grandeur is My cloak and greatness is My lower garment. Therefore, whoever tries to snatch either of these from Me, I will throw him into the Fire. [حواله ايضاً]
Thus, grandeur and supremacy are such attributes that befit only Allah alone, and a believer can never be arrogant. Arrogance and faith are opposites and cannot coexist in a single person.
