فَٱصْفَحْ عَنْهُمْ وَقُلْ سَلَـٰمٌ ۚ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿89﴾
So turn away from them (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم), and say: Salâm (peace)! But they will come to know.
فَٱصْفَحْ fa-iṣ'faḥ So turn away
عَنْهُمْ ʿanhum from them

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

So turn away from them and say, "Peace [81] be upon you." Soon they will know.

[81] This "peace" is, in fact, a farewell greeting, said when one is fed up with someone's mischief and actions, meaning: "You remain engrossed in your own state, and leave me to mine." That is, you should overlook these disbelievers and their contentious arguments. The time is very near when the whole reality will become clear before them. Indeed, much of this reality became apparent to these polytheists even in this world, and they will come to know it fully in the Hereafter.
