Surah Az-Zukhruf (43) — Ayah 75
لَا يُفَتَّرُ عَنْهُمْ وَهُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ ﴿75﴾

(The torment) will not be lightened for them, and they will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair therein.

75. The punishment will never be lightened for them [70], and they will remain there in utter despair.
[70] ﴿يُفَتَّرُ﴾ ﴿فتر﴾ means a gradual decrease in the strength or speed of something: weakness after strength, or a gradual slowing down after swiftness. "Fatoor" means sluggishness or stagnation after speed. Thus, the punishment given to the people of Hell will neither decrease nor will there ever be any pause in it. When such severe punishment continues for them for long periods without any reduction or pause, they will ultimately despair of any such relief or respite.
