Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
59. He was only a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example of Our power for the Children of Israel [58].
[58] The Answer to the Polytheists Regarding Their Strong Argument:
In this verse, the objection of the polytheists has been answered that Isa (Jesus) ؑ was not a deity, nor did he ever claim to be one. Rather, he was a most sincere servant of Allah. We bestowed upon him various kinds of favors. His birth without a father was a manifestation of Allah’s perfect power. Then he was given such miracles that were not given to any prophet before him nor after him. But this in no way means that he rose above the status of servitude to reach the status of divinity. Rather, he remained a servant of Allah and throughout his life he called himself a servant of Allah. And he was a model for the Children of Israel to follow.
