وَنَادَىٰ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى قَوْمِهِۦ قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ أَلَيْسَ لِى مُلْكُ مِصْرَ وَهَـٰذِهِ ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِىٓ ۖ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ ﴿51﴾
And Fir‘aun (Pharaoh) proclaimed among his people (saying): "O my people! Is not mine the dominion of Egypt, and these rivers flowing underneath me. See you not then?
وَنَادَىٰ wanādā And called out
فِرْعَوْنُ fir'ʿawnu Firaun
فِى among
قَوْمِهِۦ qawmihi his people
قَالَ qāla he said
يَـٰقَوْمِ yāqawmi O my people
أَلَيْسَ alaysa Is not
لِى for me
مُلْكُ mul'ku (the) kingdom
مِصْرَ miṣ'ra (of) Egypt
وَهَـٰذِهِ wahādhihi and these
ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ l-anhāru [the] rivers
تَجْرِى tajrī flowing
مِن min underneath me
تَحْتِىٓ ۖ taḥtī underneath me
أَفَلَا afalā Then do not
تُبْصِرُونَ tub'ṣirūna you see

51. And Pharaoh once proclaimed among his people, saying: "O my people, does not the kingdom of Egypt belong to me? And these rivers flowing beneath me—do you not see?

[50] Here, "among his people" could mean that he called out these words to his courtiers, or it could also mean that he made such a forceful propaganda of his statements that every individual of his nation heard Pharaoh's voice.
