وَإِنَّهُمْ لَيَصُدُّونَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ ﴿37﴾
And verily, they (Satans / devils) hinder them from the Path (of Allâh), but they think that they are guided aright!
وَإِنَّهُمْ wa-innahum And indeed, they
لَيَصُدُّونَهُمْ layaṣuddūnahum surely, turn them
عَنِ ʿani from
ٱلسَّبِيلِ l-sabīli the Path
وَيَحْسَبُونَ wayaḥsabūna and they think
أَنَّهُم annahum that they
مُّهْتَدُونَ muh'tadūna (are) guided

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

37. And such devils surely turn them away from the right path, while they think that they are rightly guided [37].

[37] This devil who stays with him at all times can be a jinn or a human. And he never lets him turn towards goodness or the path of Allah. Then, the interesting thing is that his mind becomes so corrupted that he no longer retains any distinction between good and evil. He begins to consider his evil deeds as good, and his misguidance and wrongdoing appear to him as the right path.
