Consultation · Meccan · Juz 25 · Page 483

Nearly the heavens might be rent asunder from above them (by His Majesty): and the angels glorify the praises of their Lord, and ask for forgiveness for those on the earth. Verily, Allâh is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

5. (Because of what these polytheists say,) the heavens are almost torn apart from above, while the angels glorify their Lord with His praise and seek forgiveness for those on earth. Be aware! Allah alone is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

If There Were Any Other Deity, the Heavens Would Have Burst and the System Would Have Been Destroyed:

The polytheists of Makkah used to consider the angels as the daughters of Allah. In this way, they committed a double insult against Allah: first, by ascribing offspring or establishing a familial relationship, and second, by proposing daughters instead of sons for Allah. And a son is not a possession but an equal. Now the question is, if the Creator of the universe were more than one, even two, then this system of the universe would have been thrown into chaos. Yet these people had made several familial relations for Allah. According to their claim, the heavens should have burst long ago. But the angels, who are appointed to manage the affairs of the universe, constantly declare Allah’s purity from such things and remain engaged in His praise and glorification. Then, regarding such filthy thoughts of the people of the earth, they also keep praying for their forgiveness. Then Allah accepts their prayers and pardons such criminals. Otherwise, their deeds are such that pieces of the sky could be dropped upon them and they would be destroyed instantly.
