Explained in detail · Meccan · Juz 24 · Page 477

Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "I am only a human being like you. It is revealed to me that your Ilâh (God) is One Ilâh (God - Allâh), therefore take Straight Path to Him (with true Faith - Islâmic Monotheism) and obedience to Him, and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe to Al-Mushrikûn (the polytheists, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh).
قُلْ qul Say
إِنَّمَآ innamā Only
أَنَا۠ anā I am
بَشَرٌۭ basharun a man
مِّثْلُكُمْ mith'lukum like you
يُوحَىٰٓ yūḥā it is revealed
إِلَىَّ ilayya to me
أَنَّمَآ annamā that
إِلَـٰهُكُمْ ilāhukum your god
إِلَـٰهٌۭ ilāhun (is) God
وَٰحِدٌۭ wāḥidun One
فَٱسْتَقِيمُوٓا۟ fa-is'taqīmū so take a Straight Path
إِلَيْهِ ilayhi to Him
وَٱسْتَغْفِرُوهُ ۗ wa-is'taghfirūhu and ask His forgiveness
وَوَيْلٌۭ wawaylun And woe
لِّلْمُشْرِكِينَ lil'mush'rikīna to the polytheists

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

6. Say, "I am only a human being like you [5]. It is revealed to me that your God is only One God. So remain steadfast towards Him and seek His forgiveness. And woe to the polytheists."

[5] Therefore, I am neither able to remove the veils from your hearts, nor can I take away your heaviness of hearing, nor do I have the power to tear down the wall of enmity and opposition that you have erected. Because I am also a human being like you, and these things are beyond the capacity of a human. However, despite being a human like you, I certainly claim that revelation is sent down to me from Allah Almighty. The fundamental message of which is that your deity is only one deity, and that is Allah Almighty. I do not say this based on conjecture, assumption, or analogy, but on the basis of the certain knowledge that is revelation. And the demand of revelation is that you stop acknowledging divine powers and authorities in others besides Allah. Purify your minds from such polytheistic beliefs and attach all your hopes to Allah alone. When you call out in supplication, call out to Him alone. And for the wrong path you have previously adopted, seek forgiveness from your Lord. Otherwise, the end of those who call upon others along with Allah is nothing but destruction.
