And among His Signs (in this), that you see the earth barren; but when We send down water (rain) to it, it is stirred to life and growth (of vegetations). Verily, He Who gives it life, surely, is Able to give life to the dead (on the Day of Resurrection). Indeed He is Able to do all things.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

And among His signs is that you see the earth lying barren, but when We send down water upon it, it stirs and swells. Surely, He Who gives life to this earth can also give life to the dead [48], for He is powerful over all things.

[48]
Evidence for Resurrection from the Growth of the Earth:

It had become so dry that its upper surface, due to dryness, had become like stone. When water was sent down from above, it began to swell. With the mixing of rainwater into this soil, signs of growth appeared in it. And those seeds that had long been lying underground, signs of life appeared in them, so from this swollen earth, the sprouts of those seeds emerged above the ground. Until the earth became lush with vegetation and reached its full bloom. Then, from this rain, many creatures such as frogs, cuckoos (papiha), insects, and other creatures of the earth were also produced. Exactly the same will happen near the Day of Resurrection: a special kind of rain will fall from the sky, through which a wave of life will run through all the dead. Then, at the time of the second blowing of the Trumpet, all the dead humans will emerge from their graves just as sprouts come out from the earth, and then they will set out towards the plain of gathering.
