Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
He is the Ever Living, Lâ ilâha illâ Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He); so invoke Him making your worship pure for Him Alone (by worshipping Him Alone, and none else, and by doing righteous deeds sincerely for Allâh’s sake only, and not to show off, and not setting up rivals with Him in worship). All the praises and thanks be to Allâh, the Lord of the ‘Âlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists).

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
He is the Ever-Living [87] (Who never dies); there is no deity except Him. So call upon Him, devoting your worship [88] purely to Him. All praise is for Allah, the Lord of all the worlds.
[87] Allah's Attributes are Eternal and Everlasting:
He alone is the One whose existence is from eternity and who will remain alive forever and ever. All other things are created and will, at some point, face extinction, whether they are living or non-living. The life of all other living beings is granted by Allah Almighty, whereas His life is intrinsic. Therefore, He alone truly deserves to be called "the Living." Just as His life is eternal and everlasting, so are all His other attributes eternal and everlasting. Only that Being can be the true deity whose life and other attributes are permanent and everlasting. No other deity possesses these attributes. [88] For an explanation of this, see the commentary on Surah Az-Zumar, verses 2 and 3.
