فَٱدْعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ ﴿14﴾
So, call you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and the believers) upon (or invoke) Allâh making (your) worship pure for Him (Alone) (by worshipping none but Him and by doing religious deeds sincerely for Allâh’s sake only and not to show off and not to set up rivals with Him in worship), however much the disbelievers (in the Oneness of Allâh) may hate (it).
فَٱدْعُوا۟ fa-id'ʿū So invoke
ٱللَّهَ l-laha Allah
مُخْلِصِينَ mukh'liṣīna (being) sincere
لَهُ lahu to Him
ٱلدِّينَ l-dīna (in) the religion
وَلَوْ walaw even though
كَرِهَ kariha dislike (it)
ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ l-kāfirūna the disbelievers

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

So call upon Allah, dedicating your worship sincerely to Him alone, even though the disbelievers may dislike it [17].

All the Forces of the Universe Are Active Under the Command of One Supreme Ruler:

Reflecting on these divine verses leads to the conclusion that all the forces of the universe are active under the powerful control of one Supreme Ruler. Therefore, you too should acknowledge His sovereignty alone and harmonize with the rest of the universe. As for those who do not even care to reflect on these powers of Allah, the only reason is that the blindfold of heedlessness, prejudice, and blind following of their forefathers is tied over their eyes. They find happiness only in remaining absorbed in these matters, and if they are directed towards these realities, not only do they refuse to accept them, but even being reminded of them feels unpleasant to them.
