They (hypocrites) are those of whom Allâh knows what is in their hearts; so turn aside from them (do not punish them) but admonish them, and speak to them an effective word (i.e. to believe in Allâh, worship Him, obey Him, and be afraid of Him) to reach their innerselves.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

63. Allah knows well what is in the hearts [95] of such people. So turn away from them [96], and advise them, and speak to them words that deeply touch their souls.

[95] However, Allah Almighty informed you of the scheme of the heirs of the hypocrite, and thus Allah Almighty dismissed the case of retribution by revealing these verses, stating that those who do not wholeheartedly accept the judgment of Allah’s Messenger ﷺ in their financial or personal matters are, in fact, not believers at all. Therefore, the question of retribution does not even arise, as will be explained further ahead. Upon this decision of Sayyiduna Umar ؓ, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ granted him the title of “al-Farooq.”
[96] That is, you should pay no attention whatsoever to these hypocrites; rather, continue to admonish and advise them in a heartfelt manner, and explain to them that Allah Almighty only sends His Messenger so that his command may be obeyed and he be wholeheartedly accepted as the judge. And when they made a mistake or committed an excess, they should have come to you and sought forgiveness from Allah, and you too would have sought forgiveness for them, and Allah Almighty would have accepted their repentance.
