Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

And do not marry those women whom your fathers have married, except what has already passed [36]. Indeed, it is a great indecency, an abomination, and an evil way.

Marriage with Stepmothers:

That is, your stepmothers are also in the position of mothers for you; therefore, to consider them as inherited property, to forcibly marry them, or to become heirs to their estate—these are all extremely shameful and condemnable acts. However, any marriage that took place before the arrival of this command will not be rendered void, nor will the children born from such unions be considered illegitimate. The laws of inheritance will also apply to them. But after this command, it is forbidden for you to marry your stepmothers.
