Had Allâh willed to take a son (or offspring), He could have chosen whom He willed out of those whom He created. But glory be to Him! (He is above such things). He is Allâh, the One, the Irresistible.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

If Allah had wished to take a son, He could have chosen whomever He willed from His creation [7]. But He is far above such things. He is the One, the Supreme.

[7] This is actually a response to the belief of the polytheists who used to say that the angels are the daughters of Allah. Whereas, daughters are displeasing to them for themselves. The answer given to them is that for Allah, having offspring is itself impossible. This is because between a father and a son there is sexual and generic similarity. Also, a son is neither the owned nor the creation of the father. Whereas all things are owned and created by Allah. Therefore, any kind of similarity between them is impossible. And if, for the sake of argument, Allah were to take offspring, then would He choose daughters for Himself? As you say, while you absolutely do not like them for yourselves.
