Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

Say, "I worship Allah alone, dedicating my religion purely to Him [23]."

Compromise with Shirk is Impossible:

You ﷺ were commanded to worship Allah alone with sincerity. Whereas, there came a time upon the disbelievers of Makkah when they became willing to compromise with you. And they wanted the compromise to be that they would not put any obstacles in your way on the condition that you do not speak ill of their gods. In other words, that you do not say La ilaha illallah, because this very statement rendered their idols useless, which they considered an insult to themselves, their forefathers, and their idols. And denial of this statement was the greatest disobedience to Allah. Therefore, Allah made you ﷺ respond by saying that I have only been commanded not to accept any deity except Allah alone. And if I disobey this command, then I too fear the punishment of Allah. Therefore, I cannot do such a thing at any cost.
