Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
And mention Ishmael, Elisha [54], and Dhul-Kifl as well. Each one of them was among the righteous.
[54] Mention of Al-Yasa‘ and Dhu’l-Kifl:
Sayyiduna Isma‘il ؑ is well-known and his mention has come in many places in the Quran. Al-Yasa‘ was the deputy and successor of Sayyiduna Ilyas ؑ; his lineage joins with Sayyiduna Yusuf in the fourth generation. Later, he was also granted prophethood. His area of preaching was the region of Syria. And Dhu’l-Kifl is a title of his successor, not a name. The meaning of Dhu’l-Kifl is “the one with a share (of good fortune).” His name was Bashir and he was the son of Sayyiduna Ayyub ؑ. He was the successor of Al-Yasa‘ and later became a prophet; the region of Syria was also the center of his preaching. The Amalekite king of the time was a severe enemy of Bani Israel. He freed Bani Israel from him, then that king also became Muslim and entrusted the government to him, as a result of which Islam once again spread widely in the region of Syria. At this point, after mentioning many prophets, Allah Almighty said that all of them were the best people. The Quran has mentioned these prophets in many other places as well, and at every place the Quran appears eloquent in their praise. Whereas the Bible has leveled accusations against many of the resolute prophets and has maligned their character. The prophets against whom accusations have been made in the Bible are: Sayyiduna Nuh, Sayyiduna Lut, Sayyiduna Ya‘qub, Sayyiduna Harun, Sayyiduna Dawud, Sayyiduna Sulayman, and Sayyiduna ‘Isa (peace be upon them).
