And to Dâwûd (David) We gave Sulaimân (Solomon). How excellent a slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)!

30. And to Dawud We granted Sulayman [38]. What an excellent servant! He was ever turning (to Allah).
[38] The discussion began from the point that only those people follow their desires who do not care about the reckoning of the Hereafter. Then, after giving two proofs regarding the Hereafter, the narrative returns to this story: that We granted Dawud (David) a son, Sulayman (Solomon), who, like him, was both a prophet and a king. And, like him, he was also a devoted servant of Allah.
