Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them without purpose! That is the consideration of those who disbelieve! Then woe to those who disbelieve (in Islâmic Monotheism) from the Fire!

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
27. And We did not create the heavens, the earth, and all that is between them in vain [35]. That is the assumption of those who disbelieve. So woe to the disbelievers from the Fire of Hell.
[35] Rational Proof of the Day of Recompense:
The world is not a play or amusement: That is, We have not created this universe merely as a plaything, without any purpose, objective, or wisdom, and that no result should come from anyone’s good or bad deeds, and that man was not created in this universe so that he may act unrestrained, doing whatever he wishes, without any accountability. This world is not a place of lawlessness, and whoever does not believe in the Hereafter and in reward and punishment, in fact, considers this world a toy and its Creator as a trifler. He thinks that Allah, by creating this world and mankind, God forbid, has committed a futile act. So, for such deniers of the Hereafter, the punishment of the Fire has been prepared. After death, when they are cast into Hell, then they will know what was the purpose of their creation.
