Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
77. And We made only his descendants [45] survive.
[45] Is Nuh the Second Adam?
Here, it is only mentioned that after the flood of Nuh, the human race continued only through the three sons of Nuh (Ham, Sam, and Yafith), and the fourth son, Yam, was a disbeliever who drowned in the flood. This is also supported by the following hadith from Tirmidhi: It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah that he said in the explanation of this verse that Nuh ؑ had three sons: Ham, Sam, and Yafith. Ham is the father of the Abyssinians, Sam of the Arabs, and Yafith of the Romans [ترمذي۔ ابواب التفسير]. But from some other verses, it is understood that after the flood of Nuh, the human race continued from the descendants of Sayyiduna Nuh and from the descendants of those who were with him in the Ark [سوره بني اسرائيل آيت نمبر 3]. From this, it appears that the first verse is general, and the second is detailed.
