ٱللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿126﴾
"Allâh, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?"

126. Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers [74]?

[74] That is, Sayyiduna Ilyasؑ drew their attention to the fact that this idol of the deity Baal is something you yourselves have invented. It is a lifeless stone idol whose creator is you yourselves. You are the ones who protect it. Then you go on to worship it as well. What you should have done is worship the One who created you. Not only did He create you, but He also nurtures you. He is also the Creator and Provider of your forefathers. Do you not feel ashamed to leave such an excellent Creator and prostrate before a stone idol of your own making?
