Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
105. "You have fulfilled the vision [61]. Indeed, thus do We reward the doers of good [62]."
[61] Father and Son Excelling in the Test:
When both father and son set an unparalleled example of obedience to Allah, at that moment Divine mercy surged forth. Immediately, Sayyiduna Ibrahimؑ received revelation: "Enough, do not do anything further." Our only intention was to test you, and that has been accomplished in which you have succeeded completely. It was never Our intention that you actually slaughter your son. It should be noted that the dream Sayyiduna Ibrahimؑ saw was that "I am slaughtering," not that "I have slaughtered." And as much as he saw in the dream, that much was done, so Allah stopped him from going further and actually slaughtering. [62] That is, Our way is that We put righteous people to the test, and when they fulfill that test, We raise their ranks. We grant them distinction. Then, from the very trial in which We put them, We also deliver them. Just as Sayyiduna Ibrahim was put to the test of fire, he was brought out safely from there and his rank was elevated; similarly, in the test of sacrificing his son, his son was also saved and their ranks were raised.
