Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
10. However, if any devil snatches away a word, a piercing flame pursues him [6].
[6] Shooting Star:
For the explanation of this verse, consider the following hadith: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas ؓ says that: Once the Prophet ﷺ was sitting with the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) when suddenly a star shot across and there was light. The Prophet ﷺ asked the Companions ؓ: "In the days of ignorance, when such an event occurred, what did you say?" The Companions replied: "We used to say that a great man has died or been born." The Prophet ﷺ said: "It does not shoot because of anyone's life or death, rather, when our Lord decides a matter, the bearers of the Throne glorify Him, then the angels of the heavens who are near them, and then those who are nearer, all glorify Him. Until the sound of 'Subhan Allah' reaches the seventh heaven. Then the angels of the sixth heaven ask those of the seventh heaven: 'What has your Lord said?' They inform them. In this way, the lower heaven's angels keep asking the upper heaven's angels until this news reaches the sky of the world, and the devils try to snatch and listen, but they are struck, and whatever little they manage to bring, they cast upon their friends (soothsayers, etc.). The news is true, but they alter and add or subtract from it." [ترمذي۔ ابواب التفسير]
