Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

80. He is the One Who made for you fire from the green tree [72], and behold, you kindle from it.

Allah Has Placed the Quality of Life in the Dead and Death in the Living:

That is, He created the tree from water. Then, in the end, He made it into fuel and brought forth fire from it. The tree began with water and ended with fire, and these two things are opposites, even, in a sense, enemies of each other. If the fire is in a small amount, water extinguishes it. And if the water is in a small amount, fire turns it into vapor and eliminates it. So, when Allah can create opposing qualities in the beginning and end of the same thing, then why can He not make the same thing alive from the dead and dead from the living? This is the case with ordinary trees and plants. Then there are some trees whose branches, when rubbed together, produce fire just as it is produced from flint stones. And there are some whose branches burn like candles, because they contain a significant amount of oil. In short, every tree and plant that is created from water has also been given the quality of combustibility. In exactly the same way, the quality of being alive in the dead and dying in the living has also been naturally placed.
