Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
7. They only know the outward aspect of the life of this world, but they are completely [3] heedless of the Hereafter.
[3] This has two meanings. In terms of the context, the meaning of this verse is that people’s attention is only on apparent causes. They look at these causes and draw conclusions from them, but in this universe, besides the apparent causes, there are countless hidden causes as well, which only Allah knows. And the outcome of every matter is only in Allah’s hands. Many times, the result turns out to be completely opposite to what the apparent causes suggest, and this is something that ordinary people cannot know. And if this verse is taken in its general sense, it would mean that ordinary people’s attention is only on the wealth and means of the world, and they are enamored and captivated by it. They are completely heedless of the end that they have to die and be presented before Allah, where their deeds will be accounted for, and then they will be punished accordingly.
