Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

Those who have divided their religion and become sects [35], each group rejoicing in what they have [36].

[35]
All Those Who Alter or Add to the Belief in Tawheed Are Polytheists:

That is, the natural religion is based purely on Tawheed. Now, whoever introduces any corruption into this natural religion or adds anything to it, and then, by gathering people around these corrupted or additional beliefs, forms a sect whose distinguishing feature is that very corrupted or additional belief—then all such actions fall under shirk. Thus, those who corrupt this natural religion, those who add to it, and those who follow them, all of them are polytheists.

The Beginning of Mankind Was With Tawheed, Not Shirk:

According to this verse, it is understood that man was originally a believer in Tawheed. Tawheed itself is his natural religion. Furthermore, the father of mankind, Hazrat Adam ؑ, was himself a prophet, and a prophet is a caller to the natural religion, that is, Tawheed. However, when modern researchers sit down to write the history of religion, they try to prove that man was originally a worshipper of phenomena, and then gradually turned towards Tawheed. This philosophy of religions is entirely based on conjecture and imagination. In reality, the truth is the opposite: humans distorted natural facts and, by adding to them, invented new religions and sects. (For details, see the footnote number 281 of verse 213 of Surah Baqarah.)

[36]
Every Sect Is Devoted to Its Own Beliefs:

A further corruption that arose was that people did not even consider the natural truths worthy of attention, and became devoted and enamored only with the things they themselves had added. As a result, they separated from others and formed distinct sects. Then, among the people of every sect, such prejudice developed for their self-made principles and beliefs that they could not even imagine the possibility of error in their unnatural and absurd beliefs. And everyone began to declare other sects as misguided, and, considering only themselves to be on the truth, became absorbed in that.
