Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
13. And none of their partners will be intercessors for them, and they themselves will disown their partners [12].
[12] Three Types of False Deities:
In the world, the things that have been considered partners of Allah or have been made partners in His attributes and powers can only be of three types. First, inanimate objects such as stone idols or the sun, moon, and stars, or other trees and stones. Second, such living beings who have never claimed divinity for themselves, such as angels, prophets, saints, and the righteous. Also, some living animals, like snakes and cows, etc. Among them, the prophets and the righteous are those who have always strictly forbidden others from shirk, let alone themselves seeking divine powers. And third, those living beings who want people to acknowledge their divinity, such as devils, kings disobedient to Allah, institutions or governments, and those saints who have taken upon themselves the responsibility of interceding for their disciples, or who say that the spiritual guide is always aware of the deeds and conditions of his disciples and, when called upon in times of difficulty, even comes to their aid. None of these will be able to intercede: Now see, from the first type, that is, inanimate deities, expecting intercession is utterly futile. However, these stones and trees will also be thrown into Hell along with the polytheists so that the regret of such fools may increase, and also these objects will further fuel the fire of Hell, becoming a cause of more torment for them. The second type of deities will clearly say before Allah that we always forbade these wretches from shirk; how could we have known that these unfortunate ones would start worshipping us? Therefore, these people will also be extremely disgusted with their worshippers. How could they intercede for them? The third type, who are actually criminals, will themselves be seized by calamity and punishment. They will consider it a blessing if some portion of their worshippers’ sins is not placed upon them, so they will begin to present such arguments by which they can prove that these worshippers were themselves responsible for their crimes. In this way, they will become their enemies and will want to free themselves from them. In such a state, how could they intercede? In short, none of the partners of the polytheists will intercede for them before Allah, nor will they be capable of doing so.
