سُوْرَةُ اٰلِ عِمْرٰنَ
Surah Aal-i-Imraan (3) — Ayah 76
بَلَىٰ مَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِعَهْدِهِۦ وَٱتَّقَىٰ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ ﴿76﴾

Yes, whoever fulfils his pledge and fears Allâh much; verily, then Allâh loves those who are Al-Muttaqûn (the pious - See V.2:2).

76. Rather, whoever fulfills his covenant with Allah and fears Him [66.1], then indeed, Allah loves those who are mindful (of Him).
[66۔ 1] In the midst of mentioning the inner wickedness of the Jews, the mention of their dishonesty has come in this context that both have the same source, and that is the lack of taqwa (God-consciousness). That is, these people had become so bold and fearless before Allah that neither did they act with honesty in conveying the commands of Allah, nor did they observe honesty in dealings with other people. There was only one obsession in their minds: that since they are the children of the Prophets, therefore, whatever they do, the fire of Hell has been made forbidden for them. On the basis of this false notion, they did not consider it a crime to usurp the wealth of non-Israelites by any lawful or unlawful means.
The God-Fearing Among the Jews:
Among them, there were a few who were truly God-fearing. They were not willing to commit any kind of dishonesty or betrayal in matters relating to Allah, nor in dealings with people. Among such pious people was Abdullah bin Salam ؓ and those influenced by him. They did not commit any kind of dishonesty or fraud with people, nor did they break their promises. And when they became convinced that this Prophet is indeed the very Prophet whose glad tidings were given in the Torah, they immediately embraced Islam without fearing the blame of any blamer.
